This Is Our Story

We've always been in love with nature and animals and felt that we wanted to live in harmony with both these aspects. This tented camp actually was inspired by the countless visitors that we hosted that would be passing by from their travels and needed a place to rest. They interacted with the animals we take care of and shared stories underneath the milky way with a cozy bonfire and they inspired us to create a place that travellers could rest and meet new people, share stories and be in the present not distracted by any gadgets and technology. We also loved the idea of making it an eco-lodge because sustainability is the future, so we have reduced our consumption of electricity, everything on-site is powered by solar energy. We also encourage guests to reuse the towels and the sheets provided to cut down on the water consumption of the hotel. We believe in sustainability in the tourism industry as well because it contributes to a balanced and healthy economy by generating tourism-related jobs while protecting and enhancing the area's social, cultural and natural resources for the enjoyment of both residents and visitors. Double Deluxe Tent

Overlooking the majestic Oldonyo Orok Mountain, the Deluxe Double can accommodate 3 people max, 2 adults and 1 child and is en-suite. Enjoy reading your favourite book on the terrace, or observe the countless birds flying over the treetops from your private balcony.

Twin Deluxe Tent

Our Deluxe Twin Cottages are a favourite for friends travelling together, or a family with a child. This tent can accommodate upto 2 people and a small child. They are spacious enough, and have an even more exquisite view of the mountain. Try and spot one of our tame antelopes from your terrace! They love spending time around people.

Kitchenette Deluxe Tent

Our Deluxe Kitchenette Cottages are our best sellers. This tent can accommodate upto 2 people and a small child. They come equipped with a kitchenette attached to the tent, with kitchen appliances, cutlery, tea & coffee and more. These cottages are ideal for families that want to have more privacy and cook their own meals, and enjoy their solitude in nature.

Family Deluxe Tent

Our Family Deluxe Tents are for the families that want to have a getaway space with their children not too far away. This tent can accommodate upto 4 people and one small child. This tent has everything you need for your family to relax and feel at home while on vacation. You will leave our lodge feeling closer and more relaxed than ever.

Breathtaking Views

One of the most common attractions that our guests come for from all around the world is the Oldonyo Orok mountain. It is situated right next to the Tanzanian border in the Namanga division. This landscape will leave you in awe of its beauty with the stunning view of Mt. Kilimanjaro and you can also enjoy the view of the acacia treetops all the way up to our famous hill the Oldonyo Orok mountain.

Here at Oldonyo Orok Camp we grow most of our own vegetables from our very own organic farm. We also keep our own poultry and practice self-sustainable farming. Along with a wide selection of fruits and veggies that we harvest right from the farm, It is then prepared by our talented chefs into an exquisite dish. With Oldonyo Orok you can trust the quality and source of the food that you enjoy everyday.

ACTIVITIES

Game Drives

For the guests that want to explore the neighbouring Amboseli National Park for a safari drive and watch all its majestic game animals, we are able to provide you with a vehicle and a driver at an extra cost. Wake up at sunrise for an early breakfast, pack up the car and catch the lions and elephants on their morning routine. We will need to be informed at the time of booking for us to make the necessary arrangements.

Cycling

At the lodge we provide bicycle rentals for those cycling enthusiasts that want to explore more of the surrounding at a faster pace. There are abundant cycling routes around the lodge that are safe and bicycle friendly.

Hiking

Enjoy a beautiful hike up the Oldonyo Orok mountain where you get to reap the benefits of the hike by finding an oasis waterfall at the top of the mountain. There you can rest, enjoy the scenery and have a packed lunch prepared by our chef. You will be led up the mountain by a local Masaai guide equipped to protect and inform you about the history of the sacred mountain.
